Microfilm archives of history
The Microfilm Archives of History was opened in 1955 and has since expanded to contain over two million photograms. It conserves material on Venice that is unavailable in the city itself. After the Frari Archives, it is the second major source of information on Venetian foreign relations and foreign diplomats in Venice. It conserves microfilm copies of documents and manuscripts directly or indirectly related to Venice, the originals of which are kept in Italian and foreign libraries and archives.
