2012 Cultural Activities Programme Approved
The Giorgio Cini Foundation Board of Directors, chaired by Giovanni Bazoli, met today and approved the programmatic statement on activities planned for 2012. In line with the cultural strategy in recent years and in addition to the regular events organised by its Institutes and Research Centres, the Cini Foundation programme for 2012 includes new initiatives with some surprises.
Competition for the centennial from the death of Pietro Bertoja
The Giorgio Cini Foundation, the Veneto Region and the Committee for the celebration of the centennial from the death of Pietro Bertoja presented several initiatives to remember the great set designer. Among those initiatives a competition is addressed to students of Universities and High Schools of the Veneto Region. Original projects inspired by the work of the set designer Pietro Bertoja will be awarded.

A Room of Her Own for Eleonora Duse
A new permanent space dedicated to the memory of Eleonora Duse will be officially opened in the Giorgio Cini Foundation in November.

The September-October 2011 issue of the periodical "Venezia Musica e dintorni" is dedicated to Giovanni Morelli, recently passed away. He had been the Director of the Institute of Music at the Giorgio Cini Foundation since its creation in 1985.

International Center for Climate Governance
The International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG) encourages to submit applications for two six-month visiting research positions for Phd Students or PostDocs. Research activities will be carried out in ICCG’s offices, based on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy.
