VITTORE BRANCA CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS

The selection of candidates for the Vittore Branca Center scholarships - research residencies between April 2012 - April 2013 - is undergoing.

Results - be it positive or negative - will be communicated to each candidate by the first week of March, 2012.

EMIRATES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

In 2011, Emirates Foundation created a scholarship for artists coming from the United Arab Emirates, with the aim of favouring an exchange between Arab and European Cultures. Associazione E and Nuova Icona, Italian promoters of this programme, chose the Giorgio Cini Foundation as a scientific partner and the Vittore Branca Center as a location for the selected artist’s interdisciplinary research. For six week, the artist will work among libraries and photographic funds on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. At the end of this research period, the artist will hold an exhibition at the Ancient S. Ludovico Oratory.

FULBRIGHT - GIORGIO CINI FOUNDATION RESEARCH AWARD

The Giorgio Cini Foundation and the Fulbright Commission in Rome jointly awarded one grant for the academic year 2012-2013, to support a graduate level U.S. student wishing  to pursue a 9 months period of research in the field of Humanities at the Centro Vittore Branca, on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice. Research shall be pursued in the following disciplines: Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Studies on Antonio Vivaldi, Literature, Theatre, Art History, History of the Venetian State and Society, according to the research activities offered by the Institutes and Centers of the Giorgio Cini Foundation. The grant competition started on May 1, 2011.

ICCG SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PHDS OR POST-DOC

The “International Center for Climate Governance” (ICCG) – think tank working on climate change governance – selected two researchers who will collaborate with the Center in the next six months: Patrick Ward (Purdue University, USA) and Ekaterina Zelenovskaya (Ajou University, Corea). The “International Center for Climate Governance” (ICCG) is a joint initiative of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, which focuses its research activities on the design of climate policy and related governing institutions. Researchers working at ICCG encompass climate change policy experts, representatives of national and international institutions, environmental NGOs, aiming to study and promote the development of future global policies of climate control.

RENAISSANCE SOCIETY OF AMERICA – GIORGIO CINI FOUNDATION
PATRICIA H. LABALME RESEARCH GRANT

The Renaissance Society of America and the Centro Vittore Branca are pleased to establish the Patricia H. Labalme Grant, to support American scholars willing to study Renaissance-related topics in Venice. The Renaissance Society of America will award $3,000 to the selected scholar to spend one month in the Vittore Branca Center Residence to conduct research in Venice.
