Q: Is it possible to apply to the Vittore Branca Center for short periods of time?
A: Yes, there is no minimum stay requested.

Q: Is it necessary to live on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore while studying at the Vittore Branca Center?
A: Yes, it is necessary.

Q: Can a Vittore Branca Center scholar live on the Island together with his/her family?
A.: Yes, it is possible to live on the Island with a partner and one or two kids younger than 6. To learn more about procedures and conditions, please contact the Secretariat at centrobranca@cini.it

Q: Is there still a difference between Junior and Senior scholars?
A: No, there is no distinction among the two categories. Any scholars can have access to the Vittore Branca Center.

Q: I live in Veneto. Can I still apply to the Vittore Branca Center?
A: Yes, it is possible to apply to admission for Veneto residents as well, but scholars shall live on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

Q: Is there an age limit to apply to scholarships?
A: Yes, applicants must be younger than 35 years old by January 31, 2012.

Q: I am a post-doc student: can I still apply to scholarships?
A: Yes, post-doc students are still eligible to 3 month-scholarships.

Q: Can recent graduates that are not studying for a Master's Degree or a PhD apply for a scholarship to the Vittore Branca Center?
A: No, it is not possible due to technical reasons. Scholars can apply for a scholarship to the Vittore Branca Center only if they are studying either for a Master's Degree or a PhD.

Q: Can applicants to scholarships propose an independent research topic?
A: Yes, even though it is suggested to choose one of the suggested research topics.

Q: Who are the Panel members?
A: The Panel appointed by the Giorgio Cini Foundation features both specialists collaborating with the Giorgio Cini Foundation and international scholars.

Q: Should the three recommendation letters be in the original paper version? Could they be sent via email?
A: The three recommendation letters shall be in the original headed paper version: They cannot be sent via email.

Q: Is it possible to send a scanned version of diplomas and degrees?
A: Yes, diplomas and degrees shall be sent in digital version certified by the candidate's uniiversity.

Q: Is it possible to send undergraduate and PhD thesis in digital form?
A: Yes, any thesis can be sent in digital form, on a CD included in the package.
