Beyond. Visions of Planetary Landscapes

Ever since the launch of the Sputnik in 1957 humans have launched space exploration devices storing vast quantities of data and images of other worlds, far beyond any places we have directly observed or can even imagine. In Beyond, the celebrated American journalist and photographer Michael Benson assembled, for the first time ever, the most spectacular images of decades of exploration of the “reachable boundaries” of space: Beyond is an extraordinary journey through the solar system. The exhibit shows how modern science has revealed the astonishing beauty of the universe as well as its mystery.

Michael Benson is a writer and film-maker. His journalism has been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly and The Washington Post, among many other publications.
