The Premio Venezia for Cultural Communication 2012 has been awarded to the Giorgio Cini Foundation at the  Salone dei Beni Culturali (the annual cultural tourism fair held in Venice). The jury’s reasons for the prize are the international importance and quality of the Giorgio Cini Foundation’s cultural activities, with special reference in 2012 to the Stanze del Vetro (Rooms for Glass) project, launched jointly with Pentagram Stiftung.

“We are honoured to receive this award for several reasons. Firstly, because it is an acknowledgement that might be seen as having been awarded by the city. And it is always very satisfying to note that our own community appreciates the good we have managed to do in the common interest. Secondly, because the jury is the authoritative expression of the Venetian cultural world, whose prestige and competence are recognised worldwide. Moreover, the reference to “Le Stanze del Vetro” project in the reasons for the award enables us to highlight the value of joint projects in promoting culture.”
