For its time, the theatre represented a major technological challenge: it was constructed on reclaimed land created through the expansion of the Island and extends partially below sea level.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"545\" data-end=\"1485\">The Teatro Verde boasts a long and distinguished history of live performances and, this June, will once again come alive hosting <strong>Cries<\/strong>, the concert-performance by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Christos Stergioglou<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Alexandros Drakos Ktistakis<\/span><\/span>, presented as part of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Biennale Teatro 2026<\/span><\/span> directed by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Willem Dafoe<\/span><\/span>. <em data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"908\">Cries<\/em> gives voice to human suffering and to all those who, throughout the centuries, have experienced slavery, displacement, and migration.
