{"id":35850,"date":"2014-09-29T12:48:36","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T10:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/?post_type=cini_events&#038;p=35850"},"modified":"2025-01-31T10:09:06","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T09:09:06","slug":"polyphonies-in-viva-voce-18","status":"publish","type":"cini_events","link":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/en\/eventi\/polyphonies-in-viva-voce-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Polyphonies \u201cin viva voce\u201d 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u201cMigrant\u201d choral singing in Venice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>h. 4 : Seminar with Maurizio Agamennone, Giuseppina Casarin, Giovanni De Zorzi and Annunziata Veronese<\/p>\n<p>h. 6.30 : Concert by the Voci dal Mondo choir (Venice)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Polyphonies \u201cin viva voce\u201d project is one of the most important opportunities in Italy and<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> Europe to listen to and observe the choral singing practices eagerly preserved in many local traditions.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Since 1997 the singers and instrumentalists invited to Venice have come from various<\/em><br \/>\n<em> geographical regions: the large Mediterranean islands, Caucasia, Eastern Europe, the Balkans<\/em><br \/>\n<em> and various localities on the Italian peninsula. This has made it possible to hear particularly<\/em><br \/>\n<em> exuberant complex, multiform male and female choral singing. Such forms of singing have<\/em><br \/>\n<em> often become lively markers of local identities that have become mobile and fragile, despite<\/em><br \/>\n<em> being acknowledged by UNESCO protocols as part of the intangible heritage of humanity.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>In the 2014 edition the \u201cin viva voce\u201d programme will pursue another objective.<\/strong> In many<\/em><br \/>\n<em> European metropolitan areas with large-scale immigration, some musical practices have been<\/em><br \/>\n<em> an effective means for dialogue, meetings, mutual knowledge, integration and solidarity. In the<\/em><br \/>\n<em> city of Venice for some years now there has been an ongoing administrative, political and cultural<\/em><br \/>\n<em> process that entrusts large-group choral singing with the objective and hope of contributing<\/em><br \/>\n<em> to the social inclusion of people, families and cultural groups from various regions of the<\/em><br \/>\n<em> world, who have found a possible \u2013 temporary or permanent \u2013 home in Venice.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Voci dal\u00a0mondo choir, directed by Guseppina Casarin, is a performing group setting in which people\u00a0of\u00a0different languages, cultures and religions<\/strong> or with other differences meet and \u201cspend time together\u201d\u00a0by combining, mixing and merging contributions and partial musical ideas of multipleorigins in the experience of a large group, which on several occasions has truly enlivened the\u00a0Venice soundscape, especially in peripheral areas.
