{"id":55213,"date":"2016-12-12T10:41:15","date_gmt":"2016-12-12T09:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/en\/?post_type=cini_events&#038;p=55213"},"modified":"2025-01-31T11:33:49","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T10:33:49","slug":"the-manifesto-for-the-future-of-venice","status":"publish","type":"cini_events","link":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/en\/eventi\/the-manifesto-for-the-future-of-venice\/","title":{"rendered":"Manifesto for Venice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 4 and 5 November 2016, exactly fifty years since the flood of 1966 that so dramatically highlighted to the world Venice&#8217;s vulnerability, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini held an <b>international workshop on the future of the lagoon city<\/b> entitled \u201c<strong>Sustainability of local commons with a global value: Venice and its lagoon<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop was attended by a group of international experts who, from the viewpoint of their own particular disciplines, approached the theme of how to safeguard and sustainably develop Venice and its lagoon as a local commons with a global value.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The two days of discussion (see the filmed recordings of the sessions on this page) have already produced an initial result: The <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Manifesto-for-Venice.-Definitive-version.-2.12.2016.pdf\">Manifesto for the Future of Venice<\/a> <\/b>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Manifesto-for-Venice.-Definitive-version.-2.12.2016.pdf\">download here<\/a>).
