\nVENICE, ISLAND OF SAN GIORGIO MAGGIORE<\/p>\n
Books at San Giorgio, a series of meetings presenting the latest publications concerning or
\npublished by the Fondazione Cini, will resume this autumn.
\nThe featured book on the first date, 8 November, is Giada Viviani\u2019s Nino Rota: La dolce<\/strong><\/em>
\nvita.\u00a0Sources of the Creative Process<\/strong><\/em>, the first volume in \u201cThe Composer\u2019s Workshop\u201d, a series
\nedited by Gianmario Borio. The book reconstructs the most significant phases of the composition
\nprocess of the music written by Nino Rota for Federico Fellini\u2019s film La dolce vita, as well
\nas describing the close relationship between the two artists. The launch will end with a concert
\nby the flautist Federica Lotti.
\nThe second meeting, on 22 November, will focus on the book Andrea Schiavone. Pittura incisione<\/strong><\/em>
\ndisegno nella Venezia del Cinquecento<\/strong> <\/em>edited by Chiara Callegari and Vincenzo Mancini. This
\nwork brings together papers discussed during the international conference on Andrea Schiavone
\nand 16th-century Venetian art, held in spring 2016 at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini and in the
\nmonumental rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana. Scholars and experts have brought
\nto light unpublished aspects of the production of the great master from Dalmatia and explored
\nhis intellectual and artistic complexity from the point of view of a critical profile, as well as his
\nunique role as a catalyst on the complex artistic scene at the height of the Cinquecento.
\nLastly, the launch on 29 November features Shakespeare all\u2019Opera. Riscritture e allestimenti di<\/strong><\/em>
\n\u201cRomeo e Giulietta\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>edited by Maria Ida Biggi and Michele Girardi. The book contains the collected
\nproceedings of the international conference on productions of Romeo and Juliet, held at
\nthe Fondazione Giorgio Cini in April 2018. Musicologists, historians of theatre and playwrights
\nanalysed the contexts for the musical productions of Shakespeare\u2019s play, which has inspired
