Now into its fourteenth edition, Books at San Giorgio, a series of meetings presenting the latest\u00a0publications concerning or by the Fondazione Cini, resumes this spring.<\/p>\n

18 March 2019<\/span><\/p>\n The first book to be launched, on 18 March, is the thirtieth and last volume of the \u201cDrammaturgia\u00a0Musicale Veneta\u201d series. With the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic,\u00a0the now completed series is a remarkable repertoire of Venetian opera and music for\u00a0 theatre\u00a0spanning the entire Baroque period, from 1641 to 1798.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5 April 2019<\/span> <\/p>\n 30 April 2019<\/span>
\nOn 5 April, the \u201cIntersezioni Musicali\u201d<\/em> series will be presented. Edited by the Intercultural\u00a0Institute of Comparative Music Studies and published by Nota, the series is dedicated to\u00a0Ottoman classical music and takes the form of a CD and booklet (this is the eighth). Each CD\u00a0contains the recording of music performed during a B\u00eer\u00fbn workshop on classical Ottoman\u00a0music, a project launched by the Institute in 2012 for the benefit of musicians and musicologists\u00a0wishing to further their instrumental and musicological knowledge of this important\u00a0 tradition.\u00a0The teacher and artistic director of the workshops is Kudsi Erguner, an internationally\u00a0renowned musician and musicologist, who for some years has been teaching ney flute courses\u00a0at the Institute, assisted by the ethnomusicologist Giovanni De Zorzi, a specialist in the music\u00a0traditions of the Ottoman area.<\/p>\n
\nThe third meeting features \u201cso-called Venetian enamel copper objects\u201d, I rami smaltati detti veneziani<\/em>\u00a0(2 vols).
