The presentations of new books published by or associated with the Fondazione Giorgio Cini\u00a0resumes on 30 October with Giovanni Bellini: \u201c\u2026il migliore nella pittura\u201d, edited by Peter Humfrey, Vincenzo Mancini, Anchise Tempestini and Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa (Fondazione Giorgio\u00a0Cini\/lineadacqua, Venice, 2019). The book brings together the proceedings of the international conference (27-28 October 2016) on the great Venetian master Giovanni Bellini, which highlighted new interpretations and illustrated previously little known aspects of his pictorial production.<\/p>\n
On 6 November the focus will be on the two 2018 volumes of Studi Veneziani, the journal edited\u00a0by the Institute for the History of the Venetian State and Society. Divided into four main sections (Studies, Notes, Documents and Reviews) the journal investigates and explores various\u00a0themes in the history of Venetian culture from historical, literary and artistic points of view.<\/p>\n
Lastly, on 5 December, the featured publication, presented by Alessandra Carlotta Pellegrini and\u00a0Jonathan Cross, will be the fourth book in the series \u201cMusical Cultures of the Twentieth\u00a0 Century\u201d:\u00a0New Music Theatre in Europe: Transformations between 1955-1975, edited by Robert Adlington\u00a0(Routledge, London, 2019). By considering a long list of 20th-century composers, from Berio to\u00a0Birtwistle, Henze, Kagel, Nono and Zimmermann, the book examines their relationships with\u00a0contemporary drama, the use of new technologies, the handling of political issues, new theatrical\u00a0spaces, gestures in performances and challenges for analysis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":72463,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"cini_tax_event_categories":[1470],"cini_tax_institutes":[],"cini_tax_event_locations":[1464],"class_list":["post-72116","cini_events","type-cini_events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cini_tax_event_categories-events","cini_tax_event_locations-island-of-san-giorgio-maggiore"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
