{"id":82988,"date":"2022-03-23T11:00:54","date_gmt":"2022-03-23T10:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/?post_type=cini_events&#038;p=82988"},"modified":"2025-02-03T12:08:05","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T11:08:05","slug":"conference-comics-and-the-invisible","status":"publish","type":"cini_events","link":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/en\/eventi\/conference-comics-and-the-invisible\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference Comics and the Invisible: Intertwining Academic and Artistic perspectives"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 12\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The theme of the invisible in spiritual, social and geographical terms as developed in the context of graphic book illustration and comics was the focus of the Invisible Lines travelling project, cofunded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and created by the Centre for Comparative Studies of Civilisations and Spiritualities of Giorgio Cini Foundation in collaboration with Hamelin Associazione Culturale (Italy), Baobab Books (Czech Republic) and Central Vapeur (France). Three workshops for twelve selected young artists were organised for 2021 (Venice, Tabor and Strasbourg). They are now being followed up in 2022 by three publications and three exhibitions (Bologna, Tabor and Strasbourg). The conference, the last stage of this intense long journey, returns to the concept of invisibility to ask if, and how, the ninth art can represent the invisible.
