{"id":932,"date":"2009-04-06T12:15:48","date_gmt":"2009-04-06T12:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/?post_type=cini_events&#038;p=932"},"modified":"2024-07-26T11:06:39","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T09:06:39","slug":"the-dramaturgy-of-sound-in-the-work-of-luigi-nono","status":"publish","type":"cini_events","link":"https:\/\/www.cini.it\/en\/eventi\/the-dramaturgy-of-sound-in-the-work-of-luigi-nono\/","title":{"rendered":"The dramaturgy of sound in the work of Luigi Nono"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Luigi Nono Archive, with a Steering Committee composed of Gianmario Borio, Angela Ida De Benedictis, Marco Mazzolini, Giovanni Morelli, Veniero Rizzardi and J\u00fcrg Stenzl, is organising an international conference on the theme of &ldquo;The dramaturgy of sound in the work of Luigi Nono&rdquo;, in collaboration with the Giorgio Cini Foundation Institute of Music and Ca\u2019 Foscari University, Venice (Degree Course in Musicology and the Musical Heritage).<br \/>\nIn the catalogue of Luigi Nono\u2019s works only three pieces are conventionally considered to be &ldquo;music for theatre&rdquo;, because for various reasons they can be associated with a stage or visual element: <em>Intolleranza 1960<\/em>, <em>Al gran sole carico d\u2019amore<\/em> and <em>Prometeo. Tragedia dell\u2019ascolto<\/em>. Typical of his whole output, however (no matter what combination of instruments is used), is the quest for an acoustic dramaturgy, whose implications take on different dimensions as regards the form or content of the work.
