\nGravity is full of surprises. Including the fact, discovered by Galileo, that all objects fall at the same speed, regardless of their mass, form or composition. Since then a whole series of surprising discoveries has been made including the fact that gravity can increase or diminish the volume of space or cause objects to appear to be travelling at a speed faster than light. It is an infinite source of energy and can even create something from nothing. These are all properties that can be explained and that play a crucial role in current ideas on the origin and evolution of the universe.\n<\/p>\n

\nPaul Steinhardt is Albert Einstein Professor at Princeton University. He is celebrated for his work on the theory of the cyclic universe. <\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n
