The conference is organized jointly by the Giorgio Cini Foundation (the Centre for Comparative Studies of Civilisations and Spiritualities), Ca\u2019 Foscari University of Venice (Centre for Environmental Humanities \u2013 NICHE, the Center for the Study of Lived Religion, and the Department of Asian and North African Studies), the University College Dublin, and Harvard Divinity School (Center for the Study of World Religions).<\/p>\n

In this international, cross-disciplinary conference, we aim to investigate the literary, philosophical, anthropological, and political aspects of an ecological rematerialisation of religions and spiritualities, in dialogue with the ever-growing academic production related to the connection between religious thinking and environmental praxis.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We encourage the submission of articles in English covering a range of periods, from the early modern period to the present, across different cultural contexts:
\n– religions and ecology
\n– cross-cultural ecological epistemologies
\n– environmental theories and practices
\n– religion and ecology in world literature
\n– ecospirituality and the arts
\n– ecomaterialism and ecofeminism
\n– dialogues between religion and science
\n– transspecies and postcolonial struggles in a postsecular world
\n– planetary ethic
