Scholars of dance\u00a0and music analyse the ways the musical score\u00a0changes its prescriptive status when part\u00a0of a choreographic project, the encounter\u00a0between sound and motion on stage and the\u00a0intersection of listening and sight in the act\u00a0of reception. The authors of the essays also\u00a0include representative specialists of \u201cchoreomusicology\u201d,\u00a0historians of dance, scholars of\u00a020th-century composition, and experts on the\u00a0cognitive sciences and performance.
