Antonio Vivaldi, Il Giustino, RV 717

Il Giustino was composed by Vivaldi in 1724 as his second carnival opera for the Teatro Capranica in Rome. The score highlights the composer on the eve of a modernisation of his style, while at the same time summarising the most personal achievements of his early years as an opera composer.

This reduction for voice and piano, arranged by Antonio Frigé, is based on the critical edition of the score edited by Reinhard Strohm (Ricordi, Milan, 1991/2022).
