CIAC – XLIII INTERNATIONAL COURSE OF ‘ALTA CULTURA’
Great historical upheavals and important government achievements have always been preceded or sealed by charters, declarations, lists of principles and constitutions.
The Europe-to-come is heir to a multitude of manifestos of purpose, which the recent ‘Charta’, proposed in Nice, inherits and reflects.
The course aims at retracing and studying this plurality, in its continuity of accents or the marked specificity of historical movements: from Charlemagne to the French Revolution, from the universal declaration of human rights, to the recapitulatory emblems of a collective identity – anthemns, flags, holidays and oaths – and the current challenge of uniting a contested multiplicity of languages, dialects, traditions and constitutions.
