I mondi di Galileo – Galileo, Einstein and the Nature of Space and Time
Galileo was one of the first scientists to use a combination of theoretical and experimental science to tackle the dual nature of space and time. Three centuries later Albert Einstein would rise to fame for his contribution to the argument. But what impression would we get by comparing the two? Surprisingly Galileo emerges as the more contemporary of the two: his experiments and techniques foreshadow the approach to quantum mechanics and gravity typical of the twentieth century.
