The Ludwig Van Picture Show//Viel Passiert. Der BAP film
The BAP are a rock band renowned in Germany in the 1980s, singing in German (in the dialect of their hometown, Cologne) on lyrics written by founder and singer Wolfgang Niedecken. The BAP performed with Rolling Stones, the Kinks and Bruce Springsteen and they published 16 records. The movie starts whit a concert in the Lichtburg movie theatre in Essen, and match together rare clips and an intense interview to the renowned singer-songwriter.“It has always been a problem for me to identify myself with Germany, but when I listen Wolfgang Niedecken songs, I can easily do it: it seems that they contain everything that I like about Germany” says Wenders. “Their music is the only rock that works in German language, which is not adaptable to this genre with its grammar colliding with the rock impetus. This is what provoked me”.Free entrance.
