Life Between Buildings. Gehl Architects. Museo Louisiana
Venice, Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Exhibition Centre “Le Sale del Convitto”The architect Jan Gehl and the artist Olafur Eliasson will present Life Between Buildings – Gehl Architects, as a result of a collaboration between Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and Gehl Architects. The exhibition presents a spectacular 270-degree spatial installation which uses a succession of small narratives to elucidate Gehl’s visions of urban space. This offers visitors the opportunity to be present in Gehl’s universe of images, film and sound. The installation takes the form of a large circular screen 12 meters in diameter, where the viewer experiences the multiplicity of narratives about the city as a meeting place for people, and stories of how Nordic values are translated into the identity of the city and realized through the softening of boundaries, the establishment of green oases, easy opportunities for mobility, user involvement and new ways of creating atmospheric, living, playful places.

Beyond Entropy Angola. Angola Pavillon
Venice, Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Sala CarneluttiBeyond Entropy Angola, the first Pavilion of Angola Republic at the Biennale, curated by Stefano Rabolli Pansera and Paula Nascimento, due to be held in the Sala Carnelutti of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, consists of a 1:1 scale reconstruction of a new urban model for the high-density suburban areas of Luanda, the capital of Angola, with seven million inhabitants. It acts simultaneously as a green space and a piece of infrastructure. Facing the rapid demographic growth of Luanda Beyond Entropy Angola has formulated an innovative proposal in order to stimulate debate over the urban policies of the future: this project consists in planting a commonly-occurring cane, Arundo Donax, into the interstitial spaces between the suburban buildings of Luanda, producing a new type of public space which performs simultaneously as a garden, as an infrastructure to filter brown water, and as a producer of electricity in the form of biomass. Arundo Donax has extraordinary properties: it grows extremely quickly, its rhizomes have thin roots that filter dirty water naturally and its stems can store large quantities of CO2, which is ideal for biomass.
Every day except Mondays from 14.00 to 18.00

Pesci fuor d’acqua by Carlo Rocchi Bilancini
Venice, Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Exhibition Centre “La Piscina”Pesci fuor d’acqua, is an exhibition promoted by Umberto Morera, curated by Živa Kraus and organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. The exhibition consists of a rational selection of pictures by Carlo Rocchi Bilancini, from the homonym book, edited by SKIRA in 2011, with essays by Federico Sardella, Antonia Mulas, Malcolm Bull and Brian O’Doherty. Rocchi Bilancini’s research, which lasted four years and resulted from his previous cinematographic experiences (he worked with filmmaker Pupi Avati and with photographer Enrico Sarsini) will be presented in a surreal context: images of swimming pools full of water featuring fully dressed people, are on display in an empty swimming pool.Every day from 10.00 to 18.00
