Veneto lexical archives

The Veneto Lexical Archives (ALV) was founded in 1956 with the intention of providing material for a vast historical dictionary. Over the years this effort has resulted in an ample cataloguing of the dialect of the Veneto, with a lemmatisation of all the available documents, ranging from Latin papers to literary works, to more recent oral examples. The ALV now has approximately 500,000 files, plus the 250,000 in the dictionary of Carlo Goldoni’s Venetian dialect compiled by Gianfranco Folena and published in 1993, shortly after the author’s death.
