Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice
plus JUN, 17 2019

The Intercultural Institute of Comparative Music Studies (IISMC) has decided to develop a project dedicated to audiovisual technologies with the academic supervision of Giovanni Giuriati, Marco Lutzu, Claudio Rizzoni and Simone Tarsitani.

With the second edition of Eyes on Music: Projects of Visual Ethnomusicology, coordinated by Giovanni Giuriati, Marco Lutzu and Simone Tarsitani, the IISMC continues its educational activities for young researchers and ethnomusicologists focused on the use of audiovisual technologies in distinct but complementary courses, for which several scholarships are available.

The workshop Audiovisual production in ethnomusicology: planning and editing has a limited number of places. Only candidates selected by competition will be admitted.

During the five days, sessions of theoretical teaching will be alternated with practical exercises involving recording sounds and images. Participants will be able to try out directly the basics of the course by working on the audiovisual material recorded in 2018, in occasion of the visit by Indian singer Sunanda Sharma (backstage, interviews live recording).
